SUP Safari

This is a full day, guided, stand up paddle board adventure on Strangford Lough for those who are looking to progress their SUP skills in lots of different ways. It is suitable for those who have done some paddle boarding before. 

The day will begin at 9.30am with some discussion around how we should be preparing for our day on the water - weather, tides, what to pack, how to pack it. There have been record numbers of paddle boards sold in the UK and Ireland this summer and this day will facilitate discussion and debate on how to have a safe day on the water. 

We will then head out onto the water and after a quick skills session and recap we will head off and do some island hopping around Strangford Lough. Each person will get an opportunity to do some navigation practice and lead the group. We will look at different scenarios that may occur and how you can deal with each one, including rescue techniques. 

The plan will also include stopping off on some islands to have some lunch and snacks, with the aim to finish the day around 4pm. This day should give you a sound basis for building up your SUP experience and knowledge.
