Duke of Edinburgh's Award

Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for the DofE Expedition Section

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

The ever-increasing demands on teachers and youth workers as well as Health and Safety requirements, risk assessments and qualifications, sometimes makes it difficult for schools and youth groups to operate the Award. This is where Outdoor Concepts can help.

We offer a bespoke, professional expedition service - from simply renting equipment or supplying staff to supplement your own team, right through to bringing our team in to run your entire expedition programme.

All our staff have national governing body qualifications as well as being police checked. We operate a £10 million public liability insurance policy. You are in good hands - our experience of planning, administration, equipment and logistics for training through to qualifying is second to none.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award Experiences & Dates

An AAP is an Approved Activity Provider. We are licensed by the DofE Award to provide quality expeditions that count towards your award.

If I apply to join an open expedition do I have to belong to a centre?

In most cases, yes, however if you are over 18 and want to do your Gold Expedition with us you can sign up to Gold Direct and you do not have to belong to a specific centre.

Yes we can and we would love to hear from you.

Yes, of course. A number of participants come to us by themselves but they still have a great time and make new friends.

Yes, drop us a message and we can put together some options for you.

Unfortunately our licence applies only to the Expedition Section of the Award. You should refer all queries to your centre leader.

We provide tents, stoves and fuel for the stoves. We also have a small supply of sleeping bags and rucksacks for emergencies.
