The safety of all our participants is paramount and is our highest priority - every time! We have accumulated considerable experience in managing all aspects of safety and enjoy an enviable record in this area.
Unlike the rest of the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland is currently exempt from adventure licensing. Outdoor Concepts was one of the first adventure companies in Northern Ireland that were inspected under the Adventuremark scheme. Adventuremark is a non-statutory safety scheme that allows providers of adventurous activities to demonstrate to their customers that their arrangements for managing risks has been independently inspected and found to meet the necessary standards of good practice.
Risk Management Policies
We have comprehensive risk management policies in place and are updated on a regular basis. These Risk Management policies are independently checked every two years as part of the Adventuremark inspection.
All our instructional staff not only have the appropriate National Governing Body Qualifications but come with the very highest levels of experience. Our staff come with extensive local knowledge and experience in area we work in. All our staff carry an up to date first aid qualification and have access to first kits at all times throughout all activity sessions. The collaborative approach to our adventure programmes ensures staff feel valued, are always asking questions and are seeking to facilitate programmes of the highest quality and levels of safety.
Outdoor Concepts has the most comprehensive adventure insurance package available in the UK and Ireland with a £10 million public liability insurance policy and also a £10 million Employers’ Liability policy.
Medical Declaration Forms
Everyone participating in any of our activities must complete our Medical Declaration Form. This should be counter-signed by a parent or guardian if the participant is under eighteen. These forms remain at the activity location throughout the session.
