The highest peak in Africa and the highest free standing mountain in the world at 5895 metres is a once in a lifetime adventure. With a summit success rate of over 90% you know you are in good hands.
At 5896m, Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain and the highest free standing mountain in the world. Snow capped and shrouded by clouds, the local Chagga people called it Kilema Kyaro meaning "that which cannot be conquered". Today it is the dream of every adventurer to conquer its summit and stand on the roof of Africa.
At the base of this huge dormant volcano is a tropical rainforest, home to elephant , buffalo, antelope and monkeys. Higher up you'll cross moor land with incredible Senecio and Lobilia plant. Beyond this lies the rock and ice zone as you slowly approach the summit.
We will be using the less travelled Machame Route. This route gives trekkers the most intoxicating views and as it is slightly longer, it allows greater time for acclimitisation, thus increasing the chances of summit success.
